📌 What is the Self-Serve Data Import Tool?
The Self-Serve Data Import Tool in SIRE empowers companies to independently import data into the system without relying on support teams or manual intervention. This tool is part of the onboarding experience and enables both bulk and manual data entry directly through the platform interface.
The Self-Serve Data Import Tool allows users to bulk import records directly within SIRE, without having to create them one by one and without requiring assistance from a support team.
It streamlines the onboarding process for new companies but can also be used at any time to create or update records in bulk whenever needed.
📍 Where to find it

Log in to SIRE.

Navigate to the Company section in the main menu.

Click on Import Data, located below My Preferences.

1. Create

Purpose: Opens the "Create" screen in SIRE to manually add a new record.

When to use it: For entering individual records one at a time.

How to access: Click the Create button in the relevant subsection.
2. Import

Purpose: Opens the corresponding workbook embedded in SIRE to perform a bulk or manual data import.

When to use it: Ideal for uploading multiple records or editing data directly in place.

Purpose: Downloads the Excel template for offline completion.

When to use it: If you prefer to prepare your data externally before importing.

Additional note:
Each template includes comments in the column headers with detailed explanations of the fields.
These comments provide guidance on the expected format, accepted values, and whether the field is mandatory.
It's important to review these comments carefully to ensure the data you enter is accurate and valid. -
How to access:

Click Template in the corresponding subsection.

After filling it out, upload it using the Import button.

4. View

Purpose: Displays all existing records already created or imported into SIRE.

How to access: Click View in any subsection to review the current entries.
✅ Tips & Best Practices

Ensure all required fields are completed before importing data.

Use the Create button to explore the manual input form if you're unsure about field definitions.

Always download the latest template before preparing your data.

Review the Data Requirements and Validations/Dependencies in the template to ensure accuracy and prevent errors.

Before importing, delete the first two rows and the first column containing field validations to ensure a successful import.

After completing the import, use View to verify that all records were successfully added.
