Design Updates for Next Gen Alignment

Sage Intacct Real Estate has been updated to align more closely with Sage Intacct Next Gen design patterns. These updates make the Real Estate application feel more consistent with Sage Intacct, improve usability, and create a smoother experience when users move between Intacct and Real Estate.

The alignment focuses on layout, labels, actions, messages, and common screen patterns. Existing business workflows remain the same, but screens have been updated to be easier to scan, easier to use, and more familiar for users who already work in Sage Intacct.

Why These Changes Were Made

These updates were made to improve the overall user experience and better integrate Real Estate with the Sage Intacct interface.

The main goals are to:

• Make Real Estate screens look and behave more like Sage Intacct.

• Improve consistency across company, setup, task, and report screens.

• Use clearer labels, section names, and action buttons.

• Reduce training time for users familiar with Intacct.

• Make errors, notifications, previews, journals, and exports easier to understand.

• Improve navigation between related records and processes.

The Next Gen alignment includes the following main updates:

• Updated screen layouts across the Real Estate application.

• Updated process names and action buttons.

Updated Screen Layouts

Screen layouts have been updated across the Real Estate application, including Company, Setup, Tasks, and Reports screens.

These updates include cleaner page headers, more consistent section spacing, updated table layouts, and improved organization of fields and actions. The goal is to make screens easier to scan and more consistent with Sage Intacct Next Gen design patterns.

Updated Process Names and Buttons

Several process screens have been renamed or adjusted to better describe the action the user is taking. For example, process screens now use labels such as Process Scheduled Charges, Process Late Charges, and Process CPI Escalations.

Action buttons have also been reviewed so the label better matches the step being performed, such as previewing, applying, or posting charges.

Improved Field and Section Labels

Some field labels, table columns, and section names were updated to make them clearer and more consistent across Real Estate.

Examples include:

• More descriptive date labels, such as Transaction Date, Invoice Date, and GL Posting Date.

• Clearer charge labels, such as Late Charges, Percentage Fee, and Late Charge Amount.

• More consistent terminology across related processes, such as Late Charges, Management Fees, CPI Escalations, and Chargebacks.

• Updated section names that better describe the information displayed.

Updated Linked Record Modals

When users select linked records from list screens, the related record opens in a view-only modal using the updated Next Gen format.

Examples include links to:

• Property

• Unit

• Tenant

• Lease

These modals remain view-only. No edit options are displayed from these linked record views.

Updated Validation Error Layout

Validation errors are now displayed in a page-level error summary at the top of the screen, similar to the Sage Intacct format.

Error messages are no longer displayed below each individual field. Instead:

• All validation errors appear in the header area.

• Each error includes a link to the related field.

• Selecting the field link moves the user to the field that needs attention.

• Fields with errors are highlighted in red.

This makes it easier to review all issues at once and quickly navigate to the information that needs to be corrected.

Updated Toasts and Notifications

Toasts and notifications have been standardized so they use a consistent layout and color treatment across Real Estate.

Notification types include:

• Success: green

• In progress or background process: blue

• Error: red

• Partial error: yellow

The message text has not changed unless required for layout consistency. The purpose of this update is to make system feedback easier to recognize across different screens and processes.

Updated Export Labels

Export documents have been reviewed so column labels match the updated Next Gen list screens.

This applies to exports such as:

• Excel

• CSV

• PDF

• Word

Where needed, export column names were updated to match the UI, and missing fields were added to keep exported information consistent with what users see on screen.

Updated Real Estate External Menu

The Real Estate external menu has been adjusted for consistency with the Real Estate embedded menu structure in Intacct.

The preferred navigation experience is to access Real Estate from within the Sage Intacct application menu. The external menu updates help keep the standalone Real Estate experience consistent for users who access Real Estate directly.

The external menu sections are organized as:

1. Company

2. Setup

3. Tasks

4. Reports

Each section includes an All tab, and menu items are displayed in a clearer structure so users can find related options more easily.

What Has Not Changed

These updates are focused on layout, usability, and consistency. They do not change the underlying business logic.

The following behavior remains the same:

• Existing permissions

• Existing workflow rules

• Existing calculations

• Existing posting logic

• Existing required fields and validations

• Existing generated bills, invoices, charges, journals, and reports

With these updates, Sage Intacct Real Estate provides a more unified experience with Sage Intacct. Users can navigate screens more easily, understand actions and messages more quickly, and work with a more consistent interface across company, setup, task, and reporting workflows.
