In Company Configuration, the Straight-Line Rent entries posting setting allows you to choose which active General Ledger journal SIRE uses for Straight-Line Rent entries generated during the Process Scheduled Charges process.
Before You Begin
Ensure that:

Straight-Line Rent is enabled for the property.

The journal you want to use exists in General Ledger.

The journal is active in Intacct.
Only active journals can be selected.
How to Configure the Straight-Line Rent Posting Journal

Go to Company > Configuration.

Expand the Basic Info section.

Locate Straight-Line Rent entries posting.

Open the dropdown list.

Select the journal you want to use.

Select Save.
Your selection is saved at the company level and is used for future Straight-Line Rent postings generated during the Process Scheduled Charges process.
What Journals Are Available?
The dropdown displays the active General Ledger journals available for your company in Intacct.
Changing the Journal
You can change the Straight-Line Rent posting journal at any time:

Return to Company > Configuration.

Expand the Basic Info section.

Select a different active journal in Straight-Line Rent entries posting.

Select Save.
Future Straight-Line Rent postings use the newly selected journal. Existing journal entries are not modified.
If the selected journal becomes inactive, select another active journal before running the process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does This Affect Other Accounting Entries?
No. This setting only determines the journal used for Straight-Line Rent postings. Other posting logic and accounting configurations remain unchanged.
Does This Change the General Ledger Accounts Used for Straight-Line Rent?
No. The General Ledger accounts configured for Straight-Line Rent remain the same. Only the destination journal changes.
Is This Setting Company-Wide?
Yes. The setting applies to all users within the company.
Can I Switch Back to the General Journal?
Yes. Select GJ - General Journal in the configuration and save your changes.
