Purpose
Multicurrency Billing controls whether SIRE sends tenant and vendor currency information to Sage Intacct when SIRE creates billing, payment, bill, and adjustment records.
Use this setting when the connected Sage Intacct company uses multiple currencies and tenant or vendor records have their own currency values.
Where To Configure Multicurrency Billing
Go to Company > Configuration.
In the General tab, open the Basic Info section.
Enable Multicurrency Billing.
Save the Configuration screen.
Users must have permission to edit Configuration before they can change this setting.
Before Enabling Multicurrency Billing
Before enabling Multicurrency Billing, confirm the required currency setup in Sage Intacct.
Confirm:
-
The Sage Intacct company is configured for multicurrency.
-
Tenant/customer records have the correct currency.
-
Vendor records have the correct currency.
-
Required exchange rates and currency settings are maintained in Sage Intacct.
-
Users understand which SIRE processes create AR invoices, AP bills, AR payments, and AR adjustments.
SIRE uses the currency values available on the Sage Intacct tenant/customer or vendor record. SIRE does not maintain exchange rates in the Configuration screen.
How The Setting Works
When Multicurrency Billing is enabled, SIRE checks the tenant or vendor currency before creating supported Sage Intacct records.
For tenant-facing Accounts Receivable records, SIRE uses the tenant/customer currency.
For vendor-facing Accounts Payable bills, SIRE uses the vendor currency.
When Multicurrency Billing is not enabled, SIRE does not add tenant or vendor currency to those records through this setting.
Impact On Accounts Receivable Invoices
When Multicurrency Billing is enabled, SIRE-created AR invoices use the tenant/customer currency from Sage Intacct.
This applies to SIRE processes that create AR invoices, including:
-
Process Scheduled Charges
-
Process Late Charges
-
Process Tenant Chargeback
-
Process CPI
-
Reconcile Charges
-
Process Escalation
-
Percentage rent charge processing
-
Lease activation billing
-
Security deposit invoice creation
-
Transfer deposit invoice creation
-
Optional Management Fees AR invoices
If the tenant/customer currency is missing in Sage Intacct, SIRE cannot apply a tenant-specific currency from this setting.
Impact On Accounts Payable Bills
When Multicurrency Billing is enabled, SIRE-created AP bills use the vendor currency from Sage Intacct.
This applies to SIRE processes that create AP bills, including:
-
Deposit refunds
-
Tenant Chargeback bills
-
Management Fee bills
If the vendor currency is missing in Sage Intacct, SIRE cannot apply a vendor-specific currency from this setting.
Impact On AR Payments
When Multicurrency Billing is enabled, SIRE-created AR payments use the tenant/customer currency from Sage Intacct.
This applies to SIRE processes that create AR payments, including:
-
Deposit transfers
-
Historical deposit migration payments
The payment amount is sent with the tenant currency when the tenant currency is available.
Impact On AR Adjustments
When Multicurrency Billing is enabled, SIRE-created AR adjustments use the tenant/customer currency from Sage Intacct.
This applies to SIRE processes that create AR adjustments, including:
-
Apply Deposit
-
Transfer Deposit
Adjustment lines are created using the tenant currency when the tenant currency is available.
Impact On Tenant Ledger
When Multicurrency Billing is enabled, Tenant Ledger uses the tenant/customer currency from Sage Intacct.
Tenant Ledger exports display currency in the amount column headers, such as:
-
Charges
-
Payments
-
Applications
-
Balance
If tenant currency is not available, SIRE uses the default currency for the company region.
Impact On Aging And Dashboard Amounts
When Multicurrency Billing is enabled, SIRE retrieves AR Aging information by entity when entity context is available.
This affects areas that rely on AR Aging information, such as delinquency and dashboard aging amounts.
Review property and entity selections carefully when working with aging data in a multicurrency company.
